Every now and then, a family business gets a moment that makes thirty-plus years of early starts, careful measuring and standing behind every job feel wonderfully worth it. The 2025 Canberra Region Local Business Awards gave us one of those moments – and we’re still smiling.
Business Person of the Year
We are beyond proud to share that our general manager, Ben Byatt, was named Business Person of the Year at the 2025 Canberra Region Local Business Awards.
Anyone who has dealt with Monaro Screens knows Ben’s approach: show up on time, communicate clearly, go the extra mile, and treat every customer’s home like your own. This award belongs to him, but ask Ben and he’ll tell you it belongs to the whole team – the installers, fabricators, office staff and long-serving locals who make Monaro Screens what it is.
Backing up our 2024 win
Last year, Monaro Screens took home the Service and Trade award at the 2024 Local Business Awards, and this year we were honoured to be named a finalist in the category once again. Being recognised two years running, alongside so many outstanding Canberra businesses, is something we don’t take for granted.
What these awards really mean
The Local Business Awards aren’t judged on flashy marketing – they reflect the experiences of real customers and the standards a business holds itself to, year in and year out. For a family-owned business that started in Canberra back in 1994, that kind of recognition means everything – and you can see the full story of our journey on our awards page.
It’s also a reflection of the community we’re lucky to serve. Over the past three decades we’ve tried to give back where we can – supporting local charities, sporting clubs and mental health initiatives across the region – because Canberra has supported us through thick and thin.
